Stairway to success
10 December 2013
Dress for Success Wellington's Professional Women’s Group (PWG) ended the year in style at its inaugural mini-conference and high tea held at the West Plaza Hotel on Saturday 7th December 2013.
Presentations about personal power and career choices generated healthy discussion and added the finishing touches to this year's PWG programme. Guest presenters at the mini-conference were former Wellington Mayor and company director Kerry Prendergast, Right Management Senior Consultant of Manpower Kerene Strochnetter, and leading Image Consultant, Samantha Hanner.
PWG member, Fiona Bode, was among the twenty conference participants and found the experience really worthwhile: “Kerene gave us lots to think over and advice on choices about what we can do for 2014. And Kerry Pendergast, she’s an inspiration. All the jobs she’s had and how she got into politics and became a mayor, it’s just fantastic.”
Over the year PWG has covered a range of topics from building effective relationships at work and resolving conflict, to money matters and work/life balance.
“It’s been really special to be part of this diverse and talented group of women and to support them moving ahead with their lives” said Lynn Cole, PWG Coordinator for Dress for Success Wellington.
In true Ellen DeGeneres style, the conference closed with Samantha Hannah gifting every PWG member a free colour consultation.
